During her clinical rotations, Dr. Williamson focused her attention on classical homeopathy, botanical medicine, nutrition and environmental medicine learning her trade from physicians who practiced the philosophy of naturopathic medicine while using these natural modalities. While working in the Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center, she observed and participated in the development of protocols for nearly 1000 patients. Witnessing the successful management of such diseases as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and cancer truly inspired Dr. Williamson to use the guiding principles and therapeutic order of naturopathic medicine.
Since graduating, Dr. Williamson has taken and passed the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examination (NPLEX) administered by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (NABNE). Although New York State does not currently have a license for Naturopathic Physicians, passing these national boards makes Dr. Williamson a candidate for licensure in 15 states, the District of Columbia, and the United States territories of Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands.
Dr. Williamson has taught Introduction to Naturopathy at Daemen College as an adjunct professor. Her knowledge has also been shared through articles in Light Bridges Magazine, After 50 Magazine, the Snyder Holistic Health Center Newsletter, SheKnows.com and her own monthly newsletter and website, as well as numerous lectures at various locations.
Dr. Williamson has come back to Buffalo to bring her beloved medicine to her hometown where she feels it would be of most value. She is now taking clients at two locations in Western New York.
